Set in beautiful private grounds, this charming, 200 year old country house hotel is situated in the village of Torthorwald, four miles from Dumfries on the A709 and eight miles from Lockerbie with easy access to the motorway network.

The hotel is also an ideal stopping point if you are travelling from the Scottish border to Stranraer for the Irish ferries. We are two miles off the main A75 trunk road on the Dumfries bypass. Many visitors find the hotel an ideal stopping off point if travelling from Yorkshire/Midlands areas, or even beyond, when travelling to the North of Scotland, and just as important, on their way home again.
